From October 1, 2013, the European Commission decided that EN ISO 20471:2013 "High Visibility Clothing-Test Methods and Requirements" will replace EN471:2003+A1:2007 "Special High Visibility Warning Clothing-Test Methods and Requirements" as The EU's new harmonized standards for safety reflective clothing. Since October 1, 2013, all EEC certifications for safety reflective clothing tested in accordance with EN471 will be invalid; all safety reflective clothing should meet the requirements of EN ISO 20471:2013 before being placed on the EU market.

One is to meet the color and brightness requirements after the cleaning cycle; 　

Second, the dyeing requirements for color fastness to perspiration will be changed from level 3 to the lowest level 4; 　

The third is to change the tensile strength requirement of woven materials to a minimum of 100 N; 　

Fourth, the rupture strength requirements of knitted materials are changed to at least 100 kPa (50 square centimeters of test area) and a minimum of 200 kPa (7.3 square centimeters of test area);

Fifth, the physical performance test of single-layer or multi-layer clothing, the air permeability index (RET) cannot be greater than 5 square meters per watt. If the air permeability exceeds 5 square meters per watt, it must be measured and determined to be imt≥0.15;

Sixth, the performance levels of reflective materials are not distinguished, and the requirements are the same as the level 2 of EN 471.
